Communications and Stakeholder Engagement
The Oil Sands Sustainable Development Secretariat engages and works with stakeholders including those who have policies, programs or initiatives that relate to oil sands development and its sustainability, as well as those who are impacted by the development of this resource. This also includes non-government organizations, First Nations, Metis and all levels of government.
The Secretariat goals include providing clear, coordinated information to stakeholder as well as responding to questions and concerns. In addition to maintaining information on this website, the Secretariat:
- issues regular e-bulletins on its progress,
- meets with individual stakeholders and communities to provide updates and share information,
- presents at various public meetings.
Feedback from stakeholders on ways the Secretariat can improve information sharing on behalf of government is welcome.
